Why did you volunteer? : My son Shay looks after the Under 10’s and asked us to dance for his team

How has the training been going? : Fine. Rachel has been very good

Describe your experience so far : It’s been very enjoyable

Who is coming along to cheer you on the big night : All our family and friends

What would you say to people who wished they had volunteered : Give it a try, it’s good fun

Any words of advice for your dancing partner? : Shay enjoys dancing as I do. We have been dancing a long time, I don’t think there’s anything we can tell each other at this stage!

Connection to St Sylvesters : Life member. My sons played from a young age until senior and are still involved as mentors of their own sons’ teams. I have been with them for 20 years as First Aid and Physio and my daughter Ayleen took over from me

Why did you volunteer? : My son Shay asked me to dance for his team

How has the training been going? : Excellent. The dance teachers are great and very patient

Describe your experience so far : My wife and I are enjoying the experience. The younger dancers are great and are very friendly. I know some of them since they were children!

Who is coming along to cheer you on the big night : My friends and family, dancing friends from Fingallians GAA club and bowling friends from St. Andrews Bowling Club

What would you say to people who wished they had volunteered : Go and watch your friends, you’ll see how much they are enjoying it and you’ll want to join in

Any words of advice for your dancing partner? : My wife Breda is my dancing partner for 53 years and we are married for 47 years in August. We enjoy dancing, I don’t have to tell her anything, she knows what I’m thinking!
