Nikki McGratten and Alex Gibson
Name : Nichola McGrattan aka Nikki
Born : Strumpet City
Connection to St Sylvesters : My 5 kids all played GAA at some stage & Craig plays u13 now
Why did you volunteer? : Strictly comps are my vocation, I did another Strictly last year, won it with hip hop so I wanted to mortify my kids again as once wasn't enough!
How has the training been going? : There have been tears, foot stomping tantrums, hair pulling, toys being thrown out of prams, hissy fits & that's just the lads!!
Describe your experience so far : This time round Strictly has made me realise just how mentally unstable GAA folks really are
Who is coming along to cheer you on the big night : The butcher, baker & candle stick maker !!
What would you say to people who wished they had volunteered : Face the fear & do it anyway - you bunch of girls blouses!
Any words of advice for your dancing partner? : Man up & get a grip Alex we are doing the lift even if I've to lift you. Suck it up baby!!
Name : Alex Gibson
Born : Dublin
Connection to St Sylvesters : Parent to two Juvenile players
Why did you volunteer? : Paddy Miskelly is a real Persuader!
How has the training been going? : Great fun, but the heavy lifting has still to come.
Describe your experience so far : It’s been a great way to connect with people from across the club who I might ordinarily not get to know. We’ve developed a real spirit in the group and hopefully that will be a lasting legacy from the event.
Who is coming along to cheer you on the big night : Family and friends, and I’ll be inviting the Indian ambassador too of course.
What would you say to people who wished they had volunteered : Get involved in the event, or any way --- everyone has some skill to contribute to the club.
Any words of advice for your dancing partner? : Not too heavy on the tanning creams!
