Syls u16 Girls – A disappointing end to the Championship ...
Our Group games went well with victories over Balinteer St John and Scoil Ui Chonaill. However a defeat by the narrowest of margins (1-10 to 1-9) in our final group game away to O’Dwyers saw us qualify for the Semi Finals with an away trip to St Brigids. Unfortunately St Brigids just proved too strong for us having come down from Division 1.
I cannot speak highly enough of this group of players. Every player showed huge character and resilience and I could not be more proud of each and every one of them. We may have fallen at the semi final stage but this is an extremely talented and dedicated group of players. I sincerely hope that we are all together again come next season. Considering so many of them are playing out of their age their performances over the past 3 seasons that I have been involved with them have been superb – 2 championship finals and 1 semi final appearance is something to be proud of.
