Jackies face Meath in Leinster Final in Carlow on Sat 13th 5.00pm

Dublin coming off a superb win against Kildare, face Meath in the Leinster Final on Saturday next. In the semi- final the girls played a fast, free flowing brand of football and dominated in both halves. The interval score of 1.05 to 2.10 somewhat flattered Kildare. Dublin conceded a goal in the dying moments of the half.

On the resumption Kildare briefly seemed to have the upper hand as they slotted over four unanswered points. However, that was as good as it got for Kildare and Dublin quickly reasserted their supremacy. The final sore line was Dublin 3.17, Kildare 1.12. Seven of the eight Dublin forwards scored, surely an encouraging sign of this new look Dublin side. Syls were represented by Sinead Aherne and Niamh Mc Evoy on the starting fifteen and both girls gave an excellent display.

This year marks the fortieth anniversary of the founding of LGFA. It is hoped that attendance at the Leinster Final next Saturday will truly reflect the phenomenal growth of the game.
