Minor girls and Scoil Iosa

Last week the Minor Girls lost their game V Ballyboden St Endas. This was their first defeat. Unfortuanately Scoil Iosa Girls also lost in the Leinster Semi Final V a very strong Dunshaughlin team. Congrats to John Mangan & Ann Uí Mhórdha for getting them so far

Niamh Harney & Ciara Lynch were part of the Dublin Minor team which had a very big win V Laois in the Leinster Championship. Niamh Harney was voted      player of the match. Congrats also to Conor Barry for the great work he is

doing with this team.

Conor was in Broomfoeld again to see the Minor girls get back to winning

ways tonight. With the strong wind in the first half Na Fainna's keeper had

an outstanding game saving several goal chances from Syls in the first

half. With the score leval Syle 0-4 Na Fianna 1-1 it looked as though Syls

might struggle against a strong wind in the second half. However after a

stern half time talk from Declan Hetherton the girls worked very hard for

each orher in the second half against the strong wind and eventually won

the game Syls 0-8 Na Fianna 1-3. This was a very good fighting result for

the girls considering we were without about four first choice players

including our goal keeper and full forward Eimer Treacy who has stiches in

her hand following a Camogie game over the weekend.

Syls girls are still top of the Division 1 table with three out of four

wins.
