Sylvester's Under 9s News 15th April

Syls under 9s hurling verse Erin Go Bragh Malahide Castle Meet 10.30 for 11.00 o’clock throw in Saturday 16/04/2011 Last Saturday we faced Castleknock in football and we were welcomed to their new pitches which is a fine complex and a credit to their club We were short on numbers and due to the goodwill of the opposition we borrowed three of their players to make up the difference and field the three teams All three games were tough and tested our lads physically and dare I say it mentally however they solider on pressurised the opposition until the final whistle.

We saw excellent performances from Cian Lalor scoring a number of excellent points from play well done Cian James Lynch took command of his position and dominated the forward play Luke Burke was responsible for supplying countless balls into the forwards adding to the Syls score sheet Calum Murray encouraged the team onwards showing true leadership potential and Colm Murray was as reliable as always

Con Gibson and Luke Darcy scored points from all angles and Luke’s 45 was text book stuff good man Luke Sam Daly dominated the forward line and made every ball his the opposition just looked on in awe a great performance from Sam. Shane Murray guarded the nets like a security guard if your names not on the list you’re not coming in good stuff Shane

We seen excellent performances from Seamus Carey, Luke Carroll and Alex Smith, a fantastic physical performances and the blocking and marking and scoring skills were excellent Darragh Curtain Brendan Crean battled on throughout .
We were unlucky to play the best part of the first half with a player down due to injury as an unfortunate clash of heads seen Ben sidelined for the best part of the half

In all they were tough games and you would be hard pressed to see games of such quality and higher juvenile levels so the lads need to be commended on their effort and dedication
