The wind and rain came and went but never dampened the enthusiasm of the 300 young players who took part in our Mini All Ireland series which culminated on Sunday in our Family Fun Day. Courtesy of our sponsors Audi North Dublin, this years event was bigger and better than ever, beautiful t-shirts, bouncy castles, sleek cars and gorgeous gourmet burgers made the day one to remember for all the families who took part. It was also a major fundraiser for the club and over €3,000 was raised.

On the day the young players played hurling and football, took part in a cross bar challenge (won by young Daniel Sherry), played on the bouncy castles, met Bernard Brogan and were presented with a t-shirt, a water bottle and a medal. The burgers and hot dogs were lovely too. It was another great day for the club.

A big thank you must go to our sponsors, Audi North Dublin (Gavin, Alan, Geoff and your team, thank you for all your help) and the DAA, to all the older kids who managed and refereed matches and all who helped on the day. The ladies in our shop Suzanne Shiels, Carole Morris, Carol Wall, Sue Shalloe and Susan Mclaverty worked tirelessly and were helped by Declan and Derek Morris. Paddy Miskelly of Cadburys and Anthony Cooney of Autobar generously provided stock for our shop. Marie McCarthy went beyond the call of duty, Timmy O’Connor and John Cox provided the generators and a bit of muscle, Paul Reinhardt provided electrical expertise, Eddie Moore the PA. Thanks to all who helped supervise the bouncy castles, Pat, Ciaran, Eoin, Ronan, Aidan, Karl, Emma, Brian, Paul, Des, John and many more. Finally to Panner who organised and controlled the day.
