St. Sylvester’s U8s (2008s) Update

After some disappointing pre-Christmas wash-outs, our U8s (2008 born) have returned to training throughout January in terrific numbers. We are delighted to see over 45 players turning up every week for midweek training (Thursdays at 6.30pm on Hockey pitch) and on Saturday mornings at the Ball Wall. The commitment and enthusiasm in both hurling and football is great to see, and there is excitement building ahead of our participation in the Dublin Go-games leagues in February. The 2016 Juvenile master fixtures list shows the key dates to note into Easter (we are CCC1 U8s), as follows:

In all cases, we will know the opposition closer to the date, and the U8s Go-Games football and hurling rules can be viewed here: http://www.dublingaa.ie/juvenile/regulations

Disappointingly, the weather uncertainty forced us to cancel our blitz with our neighbouring club Fingallians last Saturday. We hope to reschedule in the near future, however we did manage to run a successful mini “counties” blitz using the ball wall. Six “county” teams below played off over the morning. The hurling was fast and furious with terrific pride shown in the adopted county jerseys! It is also worth reminding that the ball wall is normally left open for informal kick/puck abouts after school and on Sundays. We will train on Thursdays and Saturdays ahead of the February 13th leagues start and, as ever, new players are welcome to join.
