Syls girls all score as Dublin Ladies lose to Armagh
After that, Armagh raised their intensity level and smothered the Dublin buildups while making several openings themselves. Aimee Mackin justified her All Star selection with a player of the match performance, scoring 1-7, all from play. Armagh made an assertive response to a Dublin forward being sin binned by playing full back Niamh Marley forward. She responded by getting herself into open space in front of goal , called for the pass and finished to the net for Armagh’s first goal
Armagh led by 3 points at half time and extended their lead in the second half until the last 10 minutes when Dublin broke the Armagh stranglehold in the middle and got quick ball to the inside line with Niamh and Lyndsey Davey taking advantage to get two well taken goals.
However, it was not enough and Armagh held out in spite of sustained Dublijn pressure. Sinead came out to centre forward during the last 10 minutes where she took a hand in directing operations with well timed and well placed passes. It would be nice to see her getting more time in this role.
Last game in round robin next Sunday v Galway, Parnell Park 2pm.
