The U8s' Busy Day .. and Night!

Our two U8s Groups had a welcome double Football fixture at home last Saturday morning. 50 enthusiastic Syls U8s players played over the morning, with the 3 Blues teams facing Erin's Isle at 10am, followed by the 3 Greens teams versus O'Tooles at 11.00am. There was a terrific crowd in attendance with the overlapping games, and a dry morning allowing for a fast pace in all the games. Scores were plentiful but more importantly, the skills level continues to improve. The coaches are especially pleased to see the application of recent Thursdays' training work into the matches in the areas of passing and blocking.

The U8s were also invited to play an exhibition game vs Fingal Ravens at half time in the Senior AFL1 game in Rolestown that evening. It was a superb experience for them to sit on the sideline to see the pace and standard of Senior football up close. A frenetic day for the U8s parents did not end there however, and we had our Parents Night in the clubhouse later that night. It was great fun and an opportunity for Juvenile Chairman Paddy Miskelly to say a few words about the Club. Sincere thanks to the Social committee for organising the venue, the food and the music. And so concluded a very busy Saturday all round... Hard to know on Sunday morning who were the more tired.. the kids or the parents!
