U11 Hurlers - Honours Even.

U11 Hurlers headed to Swords with 3 Squads to play against a well drilled group of hurlers in Fingallians. The games were very keenly contested like every local GAA derby, many of the boys were playing against their school friends and cousins with both teams wanting to earn the bragging rights.

The three squads did Syls proud when displaying a great never give up attitude. In the end, it was honours even with both clubs winning and drawing one each.

We don't like to single out players, but "Timber" Tommy, drove Syls on with some lovely high catching and point taking as Syls fought back to get the draw. Tommy's time practicing and dedication at the ball wall is starting to show on the field now. His recent improvement with the hurl, is an inspiration to the other boys and coaches.

A special mention and thank you to Declan McGrath who has been passing on his hurling experience, skills, knowledge to the Syls players, mentors and in general instilling his passion for hurling into the squads.
