U9 Girls debut v St. Pats Donabate

It was with great pride that the parents of our U9 girls assembled in Donabate on Saturday afternoon to watch their daughters pull on the famous blue and green jersey’s for the first time. This group graduated from the nursery last summer and they have been training away on Wednesday evenings since.

We had 18 girls togged out on Saturday and we have regularly been getting large numbers at training so fingers crossed we can keep this going.

It took the girls a while to get used to the match environment playing against a St. Pats team who had been playing together for the last 15 months but once they got the hang things they gave a very good account of themselves and all the girls really enjoyed the afternoon. They will have plenty more games to look forward when the U9 competitions get under way on 22nd March.

On behalf of all the parents I’d like to thank Niall Kealy who is taking the lead with this team, for organising the game. It’s great to see new mentors like Niall coming on board and we’ll all be sure to give him our full support.
