U16 footballers into league final
U16F D2 SF After finishing the league six points clear we still have to play out a top 4 series to win the league and completed the first hurldle with a single point win over Nmh Barróg in Broomfield yesterday.
U16 Footballers Go Close in U16 Shield
Our u16A football team put in a brave performance in the u16 Shield Final and played some excellent football against a St Brigids team that have set the standard in juvenile football at this age group for the last 3/4years.
U16 final cancelled due to rain
Referee called off the game at throw in time due to the weather and a lot of water on the field. Presumably next week at the same time and place>
U15As win the Championship
U15A Championship Final St Sylvesters 3-09 Lucan Sarsfields 1-06 Congratulations to the U15s and to Brian Barnes, Paul Reinhardt, Declan Lynch bringing the first A Championship to Malahide in over ten years. We led from start to finish, and never really looked in danger even though Lucan had some fine footballers on display. Defensively we were tenacious when needed and kept Lucan out when they came at us early in the second half, we were always dominant in the middle and up front we played some magnificent fluid football. Eamon Dulligan sent a nice report, Peter sent a few pictures and there is a great report from the Evening Herald with pictures by Caroline Quinn, maith sibh go léir.
U15 Footballers reach C'ship final
U15 Championship Semi-Final Naomh Mearnog 1-7 St. Sylvesters 1-14 A seven point win in the end seemed a little flattering as we had trailed for much of the game but we took over completely in the last quarter and a brilliant solo goal by Cian McLoughlin when we led by two closed out the game. There was a huge crowd cheering on Sylvesters on a beautiful morning at Naomh Marnóg. See the report from Eamonn Dullaghan.
U15 B team pipped in Shield Final
In what was a great day for our U15s and a great weekend for our juvenile teams our U15B team put up a battling performance out at Teach Sagard but unfortunately the home team St Marys won by two points. Congratulations to the boys and to Paddy Miskelly, John Crosse and Ciaran O'Brian. Thanks to Peter for the pictures and Jim Deneher for the report.
U14s win over Crokes to go top
U14Div1 St Sylvesters 5-09 Kilmacud Crokes 4-09 On Saturday afternoon in the Castle, Sylvester’s U14’s met their old foes Kilmacud Crokes in the last round of league fixtures knowing a win would ensure they finished joint top of Div 1 and also eliminate Kilmacud from the playoffs. The team has been progressing well in the second half of the season having beaten table toppers Na Fianna twice in recent weeks playing an exciting brand of attacking football and Saturday was no different.

U16 F D2 Final Syls and Ballymun were tied after extra time and must go again Saturday 29th November at 2:30pm away to Kickhams.
Slow start for U16s
After their U15 Championship and Shield heroics, the U16s had a slow start on Sarurday, both losing their league openers. I was over at Ballymun to see the As failed to take advantage of a bitter cold strong wind after the break and the home side maintained their six point lead.
Minor footballers win a tight one
MFL D2 A late Luke Troy point gave us the minimum margin and a good win in a very competitive game. There was a great crowd there to see a Brynn and Luke inspired drive and a few other handy forwards.
Juvenile teams in the shake up
A lot of our juvenile teams are in contention for honours over the next few weeks - Under 13s playing next week for the league, our first Division 1 league in ccc2 for a long while, both U14 and U16 winning league division 2 and the Under 15s reaching the championship[p final
Daniel Deneher Player of the Game
A well earned award for team captain Dan after a fine display in the final and doubly earned after an even more impressive effort in the semi against Marnóg. Dan also picked up a hurling medal with the U16s in the Shield a few weeks back and is a player we will surely see in the sky blue in years to come.
A Brave Performance not enough from 16B's
The Syl's u16B footballers fell at the last hurdle in their bid for championship glory. The lads put in a great performance but ultimately their opponents Naomh Fionnbarra proved too strong and ran out 3-9 to 2-2 winners in a game played in Peregrine's, Mulhuddard. Naomh Fionnbarra are a one team club at this age level and they started the game as hot favourites having won their semi by 15 points and having run up an aggregate score of 18-41 in their previous 3 encounters in the championship.
16Bs win over Boden
Syls u16b had a great win over Ballyboden on Saturday in Broomfield running out 5-11 to 0-4 winners.
U15 hurlers reach Division 2 decider
Syls U15 hurlers played away to Ballinteer on Sunday last in the U15 hurling league Top 4 play off semi final. In what was a dogged encounter Syls U15 hurlers came out on top against a fine Ballinteer side by a scoreline of Syls 2 goals and 12 points to Ballinteer 1 goal and 12 points.
U15s third win in a row
u15f Div2 St Sylvesters 3-10 Ballymun Kickams 2-07 Very impressive win over a strong Ballymun in Broomfield on Tuesday evening after Mun had led for a long while. Another chance to further improve our position against Vincents on Thursday evening.

Feile Football report - belated
Sorry I'm late posting this report - Feile this year ended in disappointment for our under 14s as we failed to qualify out of the group stage, having lost Daniel denneher to injury a week before the tournament the lads were always going to have it all to do.
U14's topple Feile Champions Ballyboden
Congratulations to Ballyboden St Endas winning both Football and Hurling Feiles - a magnificent achievement. Syls under 14s got back to winning ways on Thursday evening against feile champions ballyboden st endas, with a lot of injuries and the first year exams up and running we were down to the bare bones numbers wise, we had 16 players on the night but every one of them played their heart out.

Football Feile was last weekend where our A team missed qualification by a single point against Crokes after beating Lucan.
Viva le Hurling . . .French student visit
A group of 38 students and their teachers from the Angers region of France dropped by to watch and participate in a Minor/U15 hurling session. The weather was not too kind but, fair play to Sandrine Lagarde and her crew, they were good sports and got the most from their visit. Thanks to the U15 lads for making up the numbers and to Bernard, Ronan and the lads . . . Viva le hurling!!
U15s hosted Carryduff from Down
St Sylvesters hosted the Carryduff under 15 hurlers and footballers on St Patricks morning. In what were two keenly contested games the Carryduff boys came out on top .
U15 hurlers start with a win
U15H Div2 St Sylvesters 6.08 Kevins 1-08 Although fielding only 13 players wewere too strong for Kevins Hurling Club at Bridgefield.
U15 footballers win over Cuala
Our u15 A’s won a decent game of football in Bridgefield by 1 pt . We started with 14 men and although we gave away a soft goal in the first 2 minutes the lads fought hard to get back into the game. At half time we were 6pts to the good but as often happens we took our foot of the gas and let the Cuala boys back into the game.
U14 football presentations
We brought both u14 football teams Karting and Paintballing in Kart City for our end of season treat for the lads. Afterwards the players and parents returned to the club for pizza and presentation for Feile medals and the B team for their league successes. Thanks to Kevin O'Flynn for presenting the medals.
Scoil Iosa lose in Junior Hurling Final
I heard the lads we devastated to lose to a last minute goal after leading by 6 points with five minutes remaining only to concede 2-1 in the final minutes against Scoil Catriona. The team was made up of our U16s and U14s. We had lost the senior final to the same opposition, also by a single point but there we had chased the game.
U14 footballers win Division 8
Congratulations to John Maughan and his team winning Div8 after a convincing win over St Judes over at Tymon. They had a great crowd back at the club on Saturday evening with a bit of a party atmosphere. After a storming comeback in their semi-final against Lucan the U14B team carried their momentum and form into the Div 8 final and came away with a thoroughly deserved victory and county title. They put in a dominant performance to outscore St. Judes of Templeogue by a sizeable, but not flattering margin of 4-6 to 0-1.
U14Bs finish on a high at Lucan
It might have been cold looking on from the sideline but the Syls u14b side put in a second half performance that warmed the heart and put them into the Div 8 final. Playing against a Lucan Sarsfields side at 12th Lock the Syl's lads started slowly, kicking against the stiff wind they struggled to contain a confident Lucan side who seemed to score at will and had a good deal of luck for one of their goals - while the Syl's lads had to work very hard to raise a flag. At half time they changed around with Syl's trailing 3-5 to 1-2.
