Junior hurlers reach semi final with another epic display

This performance surpassed all that went before as we were short and had to improvise -- to add to that Cillian O Riordan (22) went off injured and was replaced by Gavin Dolan (37) and there was 20 mins to go --- the older players dug deep and must have been weary on Wednesday. It’s St Judes in the semi-final at 3.30 in St Brigids next Sunday.

We had 48 players togged out for the blitz and 27 juvenile hurlers participating in the ‘Crossbar challenge’. The latter competition was keenly contested across a variety of age groups with Daniel Danaher taking home the top prize – a coveted Dublin jersey signed by all Dublin players including the messiah himself, Anthony Daly. Jack Hazely from the under 14s was another winner on the night, taking home a Syls kit bag for his efforts.

Hurlers go down to Faughs in JHC1

Not talking our chances . . not enough scoring power up front . . going asleep for periods . . . hard enough to figure how we lost this one. Even though Faughs looked a good hurling side for periods, we had more of the play and were rightly disappointed to lose. We need to beat Castlenock in Porterstown on Saturday to see who progresses to the quarter final.
