Several coaches form Syls attended a very interesting coaching coach on Saturday organized by Mick Bohan the Dublin ladies manager. The goal of the course was to increase skills levels and raise funds for the Dublin Ladies senior football squad. The various sections of the course by Mick's management team. The Dublin Ladies Senior squad were on hand to demonstrate the drills and the skills.

DCB Hurling Workshop- Change of Venue Scoil Íosa 7.30pm

Heart Screening for Syls players

As part of our player development and player welfare plan,we ran a heart/cardiac screening clinic for 58 St Sylvester’s players. It was really well run event by the Adult Football Committee of Brian Talty, Declan Hetherton , Pat McCarthy and Niall Guiden. They plan to advertise and organise this event again in the new year to facilitate any players that struggled to attend. The event was sponsored by our Permanent TSB in Malahide. Conor Dunne was also in attendance to help organsie and support our sponsor.

Brian Talty's committee have been working on arranging Heart Screening for club players. We have settled on a company called Healthy Hearts Healthy Lives to carry out this screening. As you will see from their attached brochures Dr. McGlinchey is the Consultant Cardiologist and Oisin McConville is the trained counsellor, if required.

Summer Hurling Camp 2016

Dublin Hurlers Dotsy O’Callaghan and Ryan Dwyer will run a hurling training academy for all aspiring hurlers in Broomfield, Malahide from Monday 4th – Friday 8th July. All hurlers from u8 to u15 are invited. The camp will run from 10.00am until 1.00pm each day. The cost of the camp is €50 per child (inclusive of a training top). I am delighted to announce the launch of SY SYLVESTERS COACHING ADVISORY GROUP . I have asked the group to review our coaching structure in the club and to develop and implement a plan that will strive to improve and enhance coaching in St Sylvester’s. There will be particular emphasis on supporting the existing coaches and mentors and of course helping to prepare new coaches to the club as they begin their journey with St Sylvester’s. This group include a number of very experienced and talented individuals who want to help to support our coaches and players. Award 2 Child Program for coaches of players to 12 years

Dublin education programme is designed to support all coaches working at child youth and adult level through specifically planned courses and workshops. The Award 2 child programme planned for The Ward Cross & Parnell Park is due to commence on the 13th November. The course is aimed specifically for coaches who coach children up to 12 years, and the competencies that a coach is required to display when working with this age group. The dual course is 36 hours in duration and covers a number of key modules, as well as Introductory and Conclusion modules
