U14s just pipped in Feile na nÓg Div2 Final
Attacking with a few minutes remaining, trailing by three points, Lucan's keeper made a couple of fine saves and we were denied an equalising goal. Lucan broke away and snatched another goal to give them a comfortable looking win. Hard to say that we should have won having trailed all through but we certainly gave a good account of ourselves and we were very proud of a team that refused to quit. Nice touch that our lads stood to give Sarsfields a guard of honour. I also noted that that the managers used their substitute slots well and gave as many as possible a good run in Parnell Park. Well done to all, another great day out, even if we didn't snag the silverware. Hopefully one of the lads will send a report, well worth recording.
Feile Peil this weekend - details attached
This weeks Féile Peil programme attached. Best of luck to both U14 teams, A team playing in Clontarf, B Team in Good Counsel. I'm sure they'd appreciate all support they can get on the sideline. Hopefully they can match the Hurlers and get to the finals. Fergal McStay
Brave U14 hurlers reach Feile Final
The U14 hurlers battled bravely in the Div5 Feile Final in Parnell Park but were well beaten by a bigger stronger Whitehall team. We played some very good hurling and it was great to see so many of our senior players lending support. Congratulations to Whitehall and thanks for the nice gesture of a guard of honour to our lads after our presentation.
Scoil Iosa Hurling going well
Well done to Scoil Iosa who won the Leinster Colleges u16 hurling championship beating Colaiste an Atha, Kilmucridge 6-21 to 0-3 in the final. Made up of Syls players from minor to u15 another great accomplishment for the school. Many of the players go again on Monday in the U14 quarters, great time to be a Syls juvenile hurler!!
U14s reach Feile Hurling Final

U14s win a cracker against Olafs
U14 F D2 St Sylvesters 4-08 Naomh Olaf 3-08 Great game where the lead changed hands regularly but we came out on top by a goal. Good crowd for a classic Bridgefield Saturday afternoon. Maybe one of the lads will send a report.

U12 and U14 teams play Mount Sion of Waterford
Last Sunday morning the U12 and U14 hurling squads played challenge games against Mount Sion (Anthony Cooney’s home club) in Waterford and then went to Walsh Park to see Dublin beat Waterford in the National Hurling League. The U12s played a modified 10 a side game "in the cage" on their small all-weather pitch while the U14s played full pitch against a strong Mount Sion team. While Mount Sion got the upper hand in both games their was some great skill and determination on display from the almost 40 Sylvester's hurlers who travelled down.
U13 hurlers lose to strong Erin go Bragh
Decent looking game in Bridgefield, I only saw the last 15 minutes and Syls were pretty even and very competitive with a much bigger looking team from Clonee. I didn't get the score but think we lost by 4 or 5.
Good weekend for under age football . . .and hurling

PJ Troy u13 hurling tournament.
We had a great day's hurling over in Thomas Davis GAA club. We started slowly and lost our first two games to Thomas Davis and Kilmacud Crokes. The afternoon was much better with wins over Skerries Harps and St Finbarrs. We had many fine performances throughout the day and well done to all players. It's good to see so many young players developing the skills. Thanks to Thomas Davis as host for looking after everyone so well.
13b footballers showing good style
u13B Football St Sylvesters 7-13 Kilamcud Crokes 7-6 It was a high scoring game played on a beautiful afternoon in Bridgefield. This team is improving steadily on each outing. All the skills of the game were on full display today and the quality of the football from both teams was first class, some excellent fielding, soloing and score taking. Well done lads. Well done also to Aiden Lillis and Eddie, it is a measure of our club that we can field two and even three high quality teams at each age group.
ARDARA June 14th 2014
The U12’s returned from Ardara in Donegal last Sunday after another very successful weekend. Ardara CLG as usual hosted a fantastic day of football with 10 teams from 6 clubs involved and over 4 hours of football played on a very warm day. The A team after defeating Naomh Chonaill in a very competitive opening game, were then narrowly beaten by a strong Bellagy side that went on to win the tournament.

Malahide lose after extra time in Community Games
Malahide, mostly made up of our U9 and U10s lost out to Knocklyon (mostly Ballyboden I think) after extra time in the semi finals of the Community Games GAA in Bridgefield on Wednesday. (Hurling is next week I think). I don't see a lot of these age groups but this was simply fabulous football from both sides, fast, skillful, competitive. The extra-time was a real ding-dong, we led by a point, they goaled, we pointed again and they goaled again and in two short 5 minute spells just held on to win. We beat Palmerstown in the 3rd place game. A lad from Knocklyon promised pictures.

Syls under 9s hurling verse Erin Go Bragh Malahide Castle Meet 10.30 for 11.00 o’clock throw in Saturday 16/04/2011 Last Saturday we faced Castleknock in football and we were welcomed to their new pitches which is a fine complex and a credit to their club We were short on numbers and due to the goodwill of the opposition we borrowed three of their players to make up the difference and field the three teams All three games were tough and tested our lads physically and dare I say it mentally however they solider on pressurised the opposition until the final whistle.
