U12 and U14 teams play Mount Sion of Waterford

Last Sunday morning the U12 and U14 hurling squads played challenge games against Mount Sion (Anthony Cooney’s home club) in Waterford and then went to Walsh Park to see Dublin beat Waterford in the National Hurling League. The U12s played a modified 10 a side game "in the cage" on their small all-weather pitch while the U14s played full pitch against a strong Mount Sion team. While Mount Sion got the upper hand in both games their was some great skill and determination on display from the almost 40 Sylvester's hurlers who travelled down.

A big thank you to our hosts Mount Sion who provided much needed refreshments after the challenge games and also to the many parents who travelled down with the kids.

The short walk to the big game in Walsh Park added to the day with many of the kids hurl in hand cheering on the Dubs and getting much sought after autographs and selfies from the players on the pitch after the game.

So all in all a great day and thanks again to Mount Sion for hosting us and to Anthony for making the connection.
