2010 All Ireland Scorecard
We will once again be running the All Ireland Football scorecard fundraiser over the next few weekends (Saturday 11th and 18th September) It’s the single biggest fundraiser we have in the Juvenile section and last year, thanks to the efforts of all the Children and their team Mentors, we grossed approximately €3000. We are going to run it over two Saturdays to maximize the returns this year. We are looking for your support for an extra two hours (on top of all the other time you spend managing teams) on the two consecutive Saturdays. I have attached a timesheet – please advise me if you cannot cover the allocated two hour slot on each Saturday. I’d appreciate if you could advise your players and their parents at your next training session of our fundraising activities and the vital role they will play over the coming two weeks. Finally, it would be great if you could distribute a blank scorecard document to each player on your team and ask them to return it to you before the weekend of Saturday 18th. We should have the scorecards printed and available by the middle of this week – in my absence please contact Ernie or Ciaran Meehan for assistance. Thanks for your help. John McCann

We send best wishes to Noel Falvey for a speedy recovery from all your friends. The ditch feels empty without you. We also wish a speedy recovery to John Murphy who picked up a nasty injury in the Senior Championship match against Oliver Plunkets - John was really starting to make his mark in the middle and is a big loss as try to get our claim back on track
St Sylvesters club notes 30th Aug
Senior football Championship St Sylvester’s 3-5 St Oliver Plunkett’s 1-12 This was a pulsating game of end to end football that Sylvester’s led from the start to the last minute of extra time when Plunkett’s scored the winning point from a free. It was a heart breaking result from a heart warming performance that will increase our confidence and determination to succeed in the next round. The large support for Sylvester’s was well rewarded.
The Banger - four games, four codes, four days
John 'The Banger' Fanning was a busy lad last weekend, attending four different games over four codes over four days. The real question is 'How did he get a pass out for this excursion?' - must be well in credit.
Club Notes : St Sylvesters
Hard luck to the Dublin Senior Footballers and U21 Hurlers who lost their All-Ireland Semi-Finals at the weekend. With a display we would not have expected back in June, the Dubs were magnificent but just missed reaching our first All Ireland since 1995. We must thank them however, they brought the buzz back for all the little lads in blue around The Real and Only Capital, well done to you all.
Congratulations to David 'Super' Ryan
David (Super) Ryan is now the proud father of daughter ; Mother and baby sre both well ( and Super says he is also)
St Sylvester’s GAA club notes 8th August
The inaugural Paddy Mc Carthy under 21 football tournament reached a fitting climax with victory for the home team against Parnell’s in last Friday night’s final. We thank all the teams who took part and the Mc Carthy family and Axa Insurance for their generous sponsorship. The competition produced some great games and excellent football. Club coach Panner McCarthy had us raise a glass to the memory of Paddy who would have been proud to be associated with the quality football we witnessed over the last few weeks.
Congrats to Mannix and Sinead
I hear congratulations are in order for dual star Mannix Ryan and his lovely bride Sinead who tied the knot in the Dordogne in France on Saturday while another Syls stallworth, Nicky Cleere, was Mannix's best man. Best wishes lads.

The senior football team recorded two more impressive wins to make a tally of 14 wins from their last 16 competitive games and they remain on top of division one.
