St Sylvester’s GAA club notes 2nd May 2010

The club is extremely proud of our All Ireland under 21 winning Dublin player, Gary Sweeney, who scored a brilliant and vital goal and played a magnificent part in a thrilling victory over Donegal on Saturday in Breffni Park. His father Ciarán has soldiered along the sidelines for many years for the club and was deservedly the happiest dad in Dublin. His mother Louise supplied the talent and good looks.

We send our best wishes to Gary Sweeney and the Dublin U21's in the All-Ireland Final against Donegal next Saturday. There is no trad music this week.

There is no trad music this week. The Rugby Club are running a race night. The Trad night will continue on Friday 23rd April 2010. We are hoping to make the Trad night an Irish night which will get more people into the Club. So on Friday 23rd of April 2010 we are starting set dancing classes from 8.15 approx until 10.00pm before the music. These classes will be upstairs down the back. This way some of the precipitants will stay for the music and a drink. We are also planning in the near future to start Irish Language classes on the Friday night also upstairs for people wanting to learn Irish or to improve. These classes will also be suitable for students wanting to improve for the oral exam in the leaving or other exams. We already have a very good Set Dance teacher. We will have more information in relation to this in the coming week. Le meas, Eddie
