Name : Ann Haverty

Born : Killimor, Co Galway (Where the first GAA rules were written in 1869)

Connection to St Sylvesters : My son plays with the Minor football and hurling teams

Why did you volunteer? : I was actually volunteered by my husband, Kevin

How has the training been going? : Good. The “Crew” as we call ourselves, is an enthusiastic bunch and up for a laugh

Describe your experience so far : I have met people that I possibly would never have met otherwise. We all get on well and it is all good fun. Oh! I have also learned to use Whatsapp...

Who is coming along to cheer you on the big night : My family and hopefully lots of my friends

What would you say to people who wished they had volunteered : Go for it! You have nothing to lose (but your dignity)

Any words of advice for your dancing partner? : Keep Practicing – we are gonna give them a show!!

Born : Dublin

Connection to St Sylvesters : Son , Mikey plays with club ( U 15 )

Why did you volunteer? : Great club, community based and wanted to help in any way I could to raise funds to develop facilities for the members

How has the training been going? : Great fun, everyone willing to help each other, really enjoyable

Describe your experience so far : One of the best events I have been involved with

Who is coming along to cheer you on the big night : Whole family, Gina, my wife, Juliana  and Mikey , my children and extended family, mum, brothers, sister, neighbours, work and sports colleagues

What would you say to people who wished they had volunteered : No need to be nervous, it’s about having fun and getting to know people better

Any words of advice for your dancing partner? : I would ask Ann to be patient but above all, let’s enjoy ourselves!
