16 hurlers win to go top
U16H Div3 St Sylvesters 1-13 Crumlin 1-11 In a game we have looked forward to since last Autumn the U16s held out against the unbeaten Crumlin for probably our best win ever. Big thanks to Mick and Enda and the Fingal Co lads for preparing Bridgefield at short notice, it set a great scene for a fine game. The first querter was even stevens at about 3 points each before an Eoin Mc goal and a Ciaran O'Carroll point left us 4 up at the break.
The second half was nail biting from our perspective. Ciaran and Shane points were cancelled by a strong showing by the Crumlin half backs and midfield, pulled us back to a single point. We pulled away again with points from Shane having a fine game at centre forward, Ciaran, Simon and Collie but again Crumlin pegged us back with a goal. Scrappy hit a fine point on the run to let us win by two.
Defensively we were excellent all evening, Killian Power surely our man of the match at fullback but Danny, Matt, Baz, Hugh, KIllian Haverty and Simon all battled and blocked to hold Crumlin to a relatively low score.
