2 Wins and a narrow defeat for U 12 football teams this weekend

The U12 Footballers were out in force again this weekend with 3 teams taking to the field on Saturday afternoon. First up were the A team who were up against a very determined Oliver Plunketts team in Broomfield. It was a closely fought match all the way through and Syls narrowed the lead with only two minutes to go to a single point after Liam Shalloe found the net.

Unfortunately the opposition got a late point and scored a goal in the last minute against the run of play as Syls had literally camped in their opponents half for the final 15 minutes. Another valuable lesson for the lads on the high standards expected at this level. Final score Syls 1 -7 OP/Eoghan Rua 3-6

Meanwhile back at Bridgefield the second and third team were up against Na Fianna 3 and Peregrines 2 team respectively. The Bs were in fine form and notched up a magnificent score of 4g19pts with superb scores right across the team. Final score Syls 4g 19p to Na Fianna 3   - 1g 4 pts

However the game of the day was the C match vs Peregrines. this was nail biting stuff which went right down to the wire. Great performances all over the pitch from  the likes of Adam Reilly, Sean O Donnell, Paul Finn and Andrew Desmond to name but a few. Despite a late goal from the opposition Syls held on to win by a point. Final score Syls 5 g4 p to Peregrines

Well done to all the lads and see you all on Thursday night at the mini all irelands. Best of luck to the Oliver Plunketts lads playing in Parnell Park this week.
