Big Fight Night at Wrights Venue on September 21st (Doors open at 7.15pm)

Where is Rocky’s Club in Malahide? Sylvester’s GAA Club moves to the centre of the boxing world on Friday September 21st in the Wright Venue when they take on the mighty Malahide Rugby Club. It is billed as The Pride of Malahide and the all important bragging rights are the main stakes on offer.
This is of course an important fund raiser with 100% of the funds raised going directly to both clubs in order to support development projects. Tickets are available at €20 and €30 from the clubs.
Fourteen brave men and women from St Sylvester’s, including hurlers and footballers will do battle with the hookers, loosehead props and openside flankers from Malahide Rugby Club. The contestants have been training hard for over 6 weeks and tension is mounting as the big night draws near.
Some marquee names are on the bill for St Sylvester’s with senior footballer and top contender “Joxer” Coughlan sure to impress, hurlers “Mondo” Sullivan and “Jockey” Kane are well used to taking a few knocks and the elegant stylists on the team are definitely Sarah “Sugar Ray” Nugent and Nikki “Marvellous Marvin” McGrattan. Also in the fray for Sylvester’s is Councillor Eoghan “Rocky” O’Brien who is well used to the rough and tumble and will come out smiling anyway. Darragh “Dynamite” McGrath is a natural entertainer and he won’t disappoint.
This is a must see event full of colourful characters from both clubs who are willing to put themselves forward to raise funds in the best tradition of helping their community.
It will be a night to remember.
