CCC1 Football feast

Saturday April 24th was a day to mark down for the young footballers of St Sylvesters -every pitch in Malahide was filled to capacity with young footballers showcasing their talents. First up at 10am was the U8’s who hosted a blitz with Whitehall and Na Fianna as the opposition – the Syls Lads won both their matches and followed it up with coke, crisps and a Dublin County blitz medal.
Next up was the U9’s who narrowly lost to Castleknock by just 4 points, 63 to 67.

The U10’s kept the side up with a good win versus Cluain Tarbh in a resplendent looking Bridgefield, and they where followed immediately afterwards by the U11’s who won one and lost one in the U11 Cup semi finals against a strong Naomh Mearnog outfit. Unfortunately the U11’s bowed out of the competition on aggregate scoring. This Sylvester’s U11 team is a serious proposition, good footballers, good attitude and well coached - we expect to see them competing in the top tier of Dublin football for many years to come.

Last up today was the U12B footballers in their Cup semi final vs Nh Oliver Plunkett/ER - in the first half against a strong breeze, they put in a barnstorming first half and led by two points. In the second half they eased their way into the Cup final in a few weeks time.

The final match of the weekend featuring the U12A team, has been postponed until next Wednesday evening in Bridgefield – they have it all to do following the success of the U12B team today, and we look forward to receiving the support of all our supporters on Wednesday evening.
