Club notes September 9th

Senior hurling Championship quarter final Naomh Olaf 2-9 St Sylvester’s 2-14 Reaching a senior hurling championship semi- final is a massive achievement for the club. This is our first year to play at this level and despite losing some of our most experienced players to emigration the management have developed the young talent in the club to compete at the highest level. Managers, Eamon Clancy and the long serving Leonard O’Carroll and Pat Keogh deserve great credit for their commitment and dedication. An away victory over Naomh Olaf’s was a monumental achievement they can justly be proud of.

Loving Cup Final St Vincent’s 0-6 St Sylvester’s 0-9

The intermediate football team brought home the silverware with a fantastic win away over St Vincent’s. In a low scoring game they managed to edge out the opposition with a determined and skill full display of great football. They are having a brilliant year and are also competing for league honours. They play their last league game against second placed Naomh Barrog at home on Saturday the 14th. This is a game not to be missed. Come out and support.

The minor A football team also won their opening championship match with Lucan Sarsfields.

This year’s Golf Classic last Thursday absolutely lived it to its name and our sincere thanks go to the hard working organisers, sponsors and players for making it such a great event and a very successful fund raiser for the club.

Our sincere condolences go to Enda O’Brien and his family on the death of his mother.
