Colclough save seals it for Minor Hurlers

MHL2 Ballinteer St Johns 0-09 St Sylvesters 0-13 Leading by a single point with a minute or two remaining, Johns had scored the last two points and a rasper to the top corner was brilliantly saved by Danny Colclough to keep us alive. We lifted the siege and a well taken point by Conor Dwyer and a long free from Colm Byrne gave us our first and probably deserved win of the season.

Simon Owens gave his best display in years from mid-field, fetching high ball, passing, driving forward and contributing a few excellent points. Jamie Andrews was a perfect partner with a particularly strong first half. Danny was well protected by an sticky full line while Barry, Colm and Thomas held a strong Johns half line. Up front Shane Nangle continued where he left off last year with a fine display.
