Colm Byrne wins it for Minor Hurlers

MHL 2 Kilmacud Crokes 3-15 St Sylvesters 4-14 A rousing win having been six behind with 10 minutes remaining, Colm Byrne simply decided to change things as he drove through for two excellent goals. Conor Dwyer added the winning points while Killian Power and Thomas won the balls that mattered in defense to give us a most satisfying win. It was a good game for us from the start as Crokes had some fine hurlers, as usual, but we stayed with them throughout and it was only in the last quarter that they seemed to have us beat before Colm intervened.

Danny, as usual, was a rock in goal making a number of fine saves, Killian and Karl had two very skillful forwards to track and handled them very well, Colm Boran, Thomas and Killian Haverty had to work hard also but rose to the challenge as the game went on, Collie in the middle had a brilliant game and was very well supported by first Eoin Mc and later by Barry Shearman. Eoin hit a great first half goal, winning the ball on the 50 and breaking through a number of tackles before finishing with an excellent strike. Up front Paul got the second goal, Barry a few good points as did Eoin K while Paddy got through a huge amount of work blocking and tackling and making room and Conor Dwyer hit a bunch of great scores in the second half.

Great to win after a few losses and it was great that our walking wounded were there to support.

The footballers have been pushing the lads on their fitness and I think it is really paying off.
