Cracking win for Minor Hurlers

MHC C St Sylvesters 0-13 St Oliver Plunkets ER 0-7 Great win for the lads against a strong OPER outfit. We led from start to finish but the Navan Road lads never gave us an inch and we had to battle to the end. This should see us into the semi final and, on this form, we are surely planning to give it a good go. Thanks to John Keogh and Bernard for the pictures

David Kennedy was solid in the goals, U16 player Alan Kavanagh was coolness personified in the corner, Conor Ryan marked a very classy full froward and Conor Quinn made up an excellent line, Eoin Costello (Karl Stacey) and Brendan Flood made up a tough half line with the powerful Stephen Keogh (great to see him in such good form after shipping a very bad belt in Parnell Park recently). Scuby Cunningham and a very mobile Garreth McGrath played in the middle, my man of the match Kevin O'Flynn was selected at right wing but played everywhere and he fetched high ball like Tommy Walsh, Conor Meaney cracked over a steady stream of points and Tommy Richardson a few more. Derek Morris (Colm Byrne) hit a beauty in the first half, Sean Kane didn;t get any goals today but it wasn't for the want of trying and Conor Dwyer, another U16 steered over two points in the second half from out wide (he has a classic hurling stroke).

There was s good crowd and a great shout, none better than when Kevin O'Flynn soared to fetch a puckpout in the middle of a particularly turbulent passage in the second half.
