Cullen talent spotting our U12s

U12s get the league campaign of to a flying start with 3 wins and a certain Dublin captain keeping an eye on proceedings. Apologies for late report. Syls U12 Football teams got off to a flying start in their respective league campaigns across 3 teams last Saturday week. (Thanks to John McCormack for the report)

First off were the 3rd team vs St Vincents  where the lads put up a great score of 7goals 6 pts vs Vinneys 2goals and 3 pts. Syls were in command throughout from David Seagrave manning the goals to Peter Tumelty (who had his best ever game for Syls) and Cilian Jennings in the half back lines to Mikey Barrett who had a stormer in midfield. Mark Mitchell found the net 4 times in this encounter and is enjoying his time playing up front. Tom Killeen made his debut at corner forward and his speed caused all sorts of problems for Vinnys defence. many thanks to  Conor Hoyne, Sa and Darragh McLoughney from the U11s helping us to make up the numbers due to the Easter break.

The first team headed off to Skerries for their Division 1 clash and came away with a convincing win 6g15pts to 5pts. This is definitely a team to watch with strong players all over the pitch.Nearly impossible to pick out any players but I must mention a particularly impressive performance from Anthony Cox in the half forward line when he found the net on 3 occasions and also knocked 3 over the bar. next stop St Vincents next Wednesday evening at 715

Finally the second team were also playing Skerries second team in Bridgefield but unfortunately Skerries had to concede as they were missing a few players. Not to worry as Syls obliged the Skerries manager, none other than Bryan Cullen , and provided a few players to make up the numbers. A certain Sean Guidan  kindly agreed to follow in his Dads nomadic lifestyle roaming around north Dublin clubs by agreeing to play for Skerries with Fiachra Nolan and Thomas Lynch and others. The game was keenly contested and there were some impressive performances on both sides thus ensuring Bryan will have to keep working hard to hold onto his Dublin place! next game for B team is versus Whitehall on Sat at 1230 in Ellenfiel
