Girls Section Update - Syls Jackies Abu

With all the juvenile teams on their summer break it is the Syls Jackies that are making all the headlines in recent weeks. Niamh McEvoy was the star of he show last Sunday as the Dublin Senior Ladies beat Kildare in the Leinster Championship by 1-14 to 2-4. Niamh bagged 1-2 from midfield. Sinead Aherne led the full forward line and scored 0-4 from play. Nicole Owens, Sinead Treacy and Anne Clarke were all involved in the squad. The girls play Laois this Sunday in the Leinster Semi-Final, at 1pm in Naomh Mearnog.

Aimee Hazely captains the Dublin Ladies B Team in the Aisling McGing All Ireland Final this Sunday against Kerry. The game is being played in Nenagh with a 5pm throw in. Lisa McIntyre, Nicole and Anne are also in the squad. The girls had a super win away to Cork in the semi-final and will be full of confidence going into this game. Syls girls have a great track record in this competition, with Sinead Tracey lifting the trophy in this competition in 2010.

Finally, Kim White is preparing for her All Ireland Minor Semi-Final in a few weeks time and Louise Ryan gets ready for the Leinster Final with the Dublin Under 16 girls.

This is an outstanding achievement for the club to have so many girls representing their county and we wish them the very best in their big matches in the weeks ahead.
