Highs and Lows in football and hurling

Highs for the Intermediate Hurlers and Minor B Footballers who both qualified for their championship semi finals - lows for the Minor A Footbalers who missed out on qualification even though they recorded a superb win away to Kilmacud Crokes.

JHC : Fingallians 0-14 Syls 2-13

In a game where points weren't points, a couple of late goals, one off a mishit penalty won by Ciaran Falvey and another off a sideline cut see us through to the semi finals for the second year in a row.

MFC A : Kilmacud 1-11 Syls 3-9

We needed to win by 5 more than a Ballyboden win over Brigids - unfortunately we both won by the same margin so we fail to qualify on scoring difference - bit of a bad way to go out of a premier championship - call me old fashioned, I hate to see a team go out like this - I think championship is about winning and losing, not mathematics or other messing.

MFC F : Syls 1-8 Judes 1-7.

Syls won by a point even though we played most of the game down a player and finished down two (nothing very serious I believe). Semi fifal in two weeks.

AHL 7 : Pats v Syls : w/o to Syls (Pats could not field).

Bit of a pattern this year for the Junior Hurlers - lots of no shows (none by us)
