Hurlers tied after extra time at Ratoath

LEINSTER G.A.A. CLUB SPECIAL HURLING CHAMPIONSHIP 15th November - Ratoath (Meath) 0-21 St Sylvesters (Dublin) 2-15 AET Replay SUNDAY 22ND BROOMFIELD 2.30PM. The game was dominated by a strong cold wind blowing straight down the field and and we never seemed to find the fluency we had achieved at Ayrfield in the Dublin Final. Credit also to the traveling supporters, I think we outnumbered the locals.

The backline, marshaled by the suberb Enda O'Flaherty and Ian McCafferty kept it fairly tight for the whole game and contained Ratoath

darragh

to some long range points, many soft enough frees. Hillary didn't make and mistakes and his puckouts with the wind were suberb, Pats O'Leary and Damien Rooney in the corners were solid, Rooney making one particulary good clearance to setup the equaliser in extra time and Pats fancying himself as a forward late in normal time. Darragh Flaherty and Alan Morris completed an excellent half back line. Ronan Kennedy battled some good opposition in the middle for the full 80 minutes and David Casey and Manix Ryan

shared the other mid spot. The half forward line of Fergus Rooney, Greg Hannon(Conor McCafferty) and Colm O'Connor battled hard against an excellent centre back and a very classy wing man while inside Tom Reddy got a goal and a few points, Martin Ormond the same and Ciaran Falvey was always a handful.
