Hurling results

Both Junior and Intermediate teams are still in contention in their Championships - the Inters now have a quarter final coming up - hopefully we get to play this out before the hard dark winter descends like last year.

Junior D Hurling Championship

Na Fianna 1-9, St Sylvesters 1-8

A narrow one point loss to Na Fianna in Mobhi Road on Sunday 19th July means a three way playoff is needed to decide who gets to the knock-out stages. Two out of ourselves, Raheny and Na Fianna go through and the games will likely be fixed before the end of the August break if possible. At half time we were up 1-5 to 1-4 but could not build on good possession to pull clear in the third quarter. There were welcome appearances for Rueben Kirrane and Ari Cleere who acquitted themselves very well while Paul Christie, Ciaran Murray and Willie Reynolds had good games in a mean full back line. Scorers Declan Tolster (1-4, all frees), Mick Tolster (0-1f), Barry Cowley, Cillian O Riordan and Padraig Kennedy (0-1 each)

AHL 7 Thurs 16th July.  St Sylvesters 1-14, St Maur’s 0-11

A superb win in Rush puts us in a good position to challenge for honours in the league. There was good support for the team where Graham Morris excellently kept a clean sheet in goals. Scorers Declan Tolster (0-7f), Neil Brannigan (0-4), Peter Guyatt (1-0), Cillian O Riordan (0-2) and  Padraig Kennedy  (0-1).

Intermediate JAHC  Tuesday 14th July

Faughs 2-10, St Sylvesters 1-9

A good performance but two lapses in the backs cost us this match but the walk-over against Castleknock still means we qualify for the knock-out stage. Conor Mc Caffety bagged four points, Andrew Richarson scored the goal and we had 5 points from frees by Colm O Connor

Junior A Hurling Championship ---- Castleknock gave a walkover in this game on Saturday 18th July which means next game is quarter final scheduled for 11 August 2009
