Inter footballers back to winning ways

AFL3 Naomh Olaf 0-11 St. Sylvester's 2-11 After losing our last two league games the pressure was on the get back to winning ways in the league. When Mark Finnerty hit the net with 30 seconds on the clock the stage was set for our lads to produce one of their best performances of the season so far.

The early goal gave us a platform to build on and it's a credit to the hard work put in by all the players that the home side were never able  to get back ahead in the match. After a shaky opening couple of minutes Brian McCarthy  and Mark Reilly began to come into the game in midfield and they were supported the half backs and forwards who won 90% of the breaking ball in that area which enabled us to set up attacks from very good field position. The speed and pace of Mark, David Sexton and Philly Daly in the full forward line was a constant thorn in the side of the Olaf's full back line and a combined return of 2-06 from these 3 was just reward for their efforts.  The defence also played their part in holding their opponents to just 11 points. All in all this was a great team performance against a very good Nh Olaf's side and it sets up nicely for the game against Naomh Fionnbarra in Broomfield this Saturday.
