Inters and Juniors leave it late - but not too late

Following the Senior footballers win on Saturday evening it needed late goals in Broomfield on Sunday to help keep two of our teams in the hunt for promotion at the end of the season. The Intermediates, helped by 3 pts from centre-back Derek Roche, were 7 pts to 2 up at half-time in their game against St Patricks Donabate when shortly afterwards Syls were reduced to 14 men

Pats got back level before Neil Dignam scored a late goal to finally kill off the Pats comeback and helped keep Syls in the AFL4 play-off positions. The Juniors left it even later to score their goal, it was seven minutes into injury time when Johnny Conway scored the vital goal to beat Finbarrs. It looked like all the Syls misses in the second half were going to prove costly before the full-forward followed up his midweek goals with a tremendous finish to secure the two points and keep Syls interest in AFL7 alive going into the last two games of the season.
Great week for Syls Adult football : four wins in Championship and three vital wins in the League.

AFL1 : Syls 0-13 Ballymun 0-11.
AFL4 : Syls 1-9 Pats 0-10.
AFL7 : Syls 1-11 Finbarrs 1-9.
