Inters progress (Ducky come back, all is forgiven)

IFC St Sylvesters 2-09 Erins Isles 0-06 Comprehensive in the end but it looked a little dodgy with 15 minutes remaining when we led by a single point and had not scored in the second half. We finally found our scoring boots when a free from Alan Foy was fielded by the lively Fionn Cahill and finished to the net by Sean Byrne just as he was introduced to the action.
This is mostly a very young team with a few strategically placed veterans and some of last years minors have made the transition very well. Stephen is a rock in the goals, the fullback line of John Peacock, Ciaran McArdle and Alan Morris is very mobile, Damien, Ronan and Alan were strong in the half line, Jha and Digger very dominant in the middle, Foy has great balance, Bannigan wins a lot of ball as does Brian McCarthy. Keith scored the first goal and wnet into defense in the second to help out and get us back on track, Fionn Cahill took a few lovely scores as did Mannix.
And Ducky Bannigan, what's the story. We had a good laugh when of our umpire being sent off for calling two perfectly good points (at least from our position on the bank). . . . an honours graduate of the Ducky School of Umpiring . . .  Of course I lost the picture of the long lonely walk.
