Junior Hurlers keep to their winning ways

AHL 7 September 5th Sylvesters 5-9, Erin’s Isle 3-5. From the throw in, Syls showed they meant business when Niall O Connor goaled after the first long ball went in and was knocked down by Johnny Conway. Leading 1-3 to no score after 6 minutes and playing against the wind, a loss of concentration let Isles in for a goal and coming up to half time it was 1-6 to 1-4 for Syls when a Colm O Connor shot was turned in by a defender to leave us up 5 points with a strong wind to help in the second half..

We got the ideal start with goals from Shane O Connor and Johnny Conway but Isles are a good team and never gave up and hit back with goals of their own. Overall it was a well deserved and clear win in the end which should put us into a playoff to get into the league final. Killian Kirrane gave a very solid display again in goals and Ciaran Murray and Gary Plunkett were very assured in the backs while Des Lehane controlled centre back very well. Johnny Conway gave a display of high fielding when he moved out to half forward. Scorers N O Connor (1-7,5f) , Shane O Connor (2-0), Colm O Connor (1-1), Johnny Conway (1-0) , Fergus Rooney (0-1)
