What a difference in a couple of weeks! The first championship fixture for our Junior Hurlers was a tough one- a mountain to climb ! Only a few weeks ago they were completely outplayed by Raheny in a league match by 2:20 to 1:6. But on Tuesday evening these lads showed plenty of spirit and guts and no little skill when they face up again to Raheny.

In a exciting game our hurlers fought tooth and nail for every ball  and at half time were losing by just 4 points. In an exciting second half they showed skill in both on the ground and in the air and for a brief spell it looked like they were going to win as they led by a point mid-way . But it was not to be-a goal set up  Raheny who went on to lead by 4 points, but our lads never stopped trying and in the end as  time ran out with the final score Raheny 1-12, St Sylvesters 1-9  The manager of the Raheny summed it up when he congratulated our lads on their performance "you gave us a tough game to-night- far different to a few weeks ago";he then wished them success in their next game
