Malahide young chess players prepare for All-Ireland finals

Members of Malahide Junior Chess Club, which meets in St Sylvester’s Club, are currently preparing for the All-Ireland finals( u16 Chess)taking place in Athlone over the week-end 25th & 26th May.
The panel is captained by Killian Burke with Alessio Roselli, David Kearney, David Deneher, Aaron Coleman, Jacob Flynn and Kian Hopkins.

In 2012, these lads won the All-Ireland u12 title. Moving up, they comfortably beat all before them in the Dublin competition, winning the semi-final and final by 5-0 scores. Representing Dublin in the Leinster competition they defeated Kildare 4.5- 0.5 and Wicklow 5-0. Westmeath were overcome 4-1 in the semi-final and Meath were conquered by the same score in the Final.

So, now they go on to represent Malahide, Dublin and Leinster for the ultinmate prize.
