Minor Footballers open their Championship with a draw.

MFC A St Sylvesters 0-09 Ballyboden St Endas 0-09 Enjoyable game to watch, we led, we trailed, we led and ended up drawing. We went into a 2 point lead before Boden took over against a blustery wind and scored some really classy points. We struggled to use the wind and a missed free leaving us down a point at the break looked ominous.

Funny how it works, we took over completely for a long period of the second half, our strong half forward line of Conor Meaney, Conor Mullarkey and Fionn Cahil seemed to drop back a little and bolster the middle with Scooby and Boyne. Conor Quinn came into the half back line to help out the energetic Kevin O'Flynn and John Peacock. Unfortunately we didn't capitalise on our dominance and Boden hit four in a row to lead coming to full time. A confident late free from Fionn gave us the draw in a game we could have won.

Full back line of Ryan, Higgens and Shalloe did very well against good opposition and our keeper made on fabulous save with 10 minutes remaining to keep us alive. Up front Garreth McGrath, Brian McCarthy and Mark were busy throughout..
