Minor Hurlers battle out a draw
MHC B St Sylvesters 3-11 O' Tooles 4 - 8
It was a tough contest from start to end and O'Tooles were not going to give up easly, especially on their own home ground. O'Tooles settled more quickely than we did and were 1-3 to 2 points after ten minutes. For the next twenty minutes we dominated and with goals from Dereck Morris and Kevin McLoughney we led by 2-6 to 1-4 at half time.
We opened the second half well by extending our lead to eight points with a goal from Colm Byrne
O'Tooles made
their comeback with a goal followed by a point, we brought it back to
six with points from Kevin O' Flynn and Dereck Morris. O'Tooles struck
with another goal and then a free from outside the 20m line which was
sent to the back of the net. With two minutes to go we won the puck out
and Conor Meany delivered a fantastic point, surely this was it, but no,
O' Tooles returned with a point to draw the game.
