Minor hurlers let it slip
MHL2 St Maurs 3-11 St Sylvesters 3-07 Tough uncompromising game, we went behind early but fought really hard to get ahead by three at half time, goals by Simon and Eoin K, points by Shane, Colm Byrne and Eoin Mc and some terrific defending by Barry, Killian Power and two super saves by Danny. We stayed in front up to about 5 minutes remaining thanks to a well taken Colm Byrne goal but a combination of missed scores into a difficult wind and a Maur's goal saw us edged out.
We were a bit tight on subs and Simon, with yet another super all round display, Killian, Baz and Shane all had to play through injuries to the end.
Disappointed to lose but very pleased with the courage and effort from all the team.
