Minors good win at Ballinteer
MHC B Ballinteer St Johns 3-07 St Sylvesters 2-11 A single point win in difficult windy conditions built on a good defensive display in the first half when we only conceded a single goal and trailed by a point at half time. With the wind favouring us in the second half we took the lead early with points form Shane and Colm Boran before a Colm Byrne goal gave us some daylight.
Ballinteer came back with a few scores before another Collie goal from long range gave us a more commanding lead. (I would credit Philip Browne also, causing havoc in the Ballinteer square after coming on for his fist appearance in over two years). We needed the lead, however, as Johns goaled twice to haul us back to a single point. Never an easy place to win and we look forward to St Davids (Parnells and Ciarans we think) in the next of a round robin.
