Nicky Brennan brings Daven and Cusack to St Sylvesters
Good crowd at the club on Wednesday evening for the visit of GAA President Nicky Brennan. Good speaker, gave us a few stories about Council meeting at Hayes Hotel in Thurles and how Michael Daven and Michael Cusack would have viewed his agenda addressing items like Inter Provincials in Dubai, International Rules in Australia, grounds opening in the US - how the Association has evolved in recent years
Nicky thanked Dublin Airport Authority on behalf of Syls and the GAA for their sponsorship of the Nursery and reminded us of the great generosity shown to the GAA by our many sponsors.
Declan Tolster presented the Miller Shield medals to the 2008 junior hurlers and Declan Morris to the 2008 Minor Hurlers. Club Secretary John Fanning (acting for the indisposed Geln Troy), Dublin Vice Chairman Danny O'Connor, DAA's Siobhan Moore, Juvenile Chairman Ciaran Meehan and all round good guy, Tony Cooney, all contributed.
