Ormonde leads way for Fingal

FINGAL 4-18 MONAGHAN 0-13 St Sylvester’s Martin Ormonde hit an impressive 2-8 as Fingal cruised past Monaghan in Sunday’s Allianz NHL Division 3B at Lawless Park in Swords. The hosts were in command as soon as St Brigid’s full-forward Cian O'Mahoney pounced on a save from Monaghan goalkeeper Hugh Byrne and fired to the net to help them towards the half-time lead. Alan Morris and Andrew Richardson also featured.

In the second-half, there was simply no let up from the capital men as Ormonde's accurate frees gave the visitors no way back into the game, despite the best efforts of Stephen Lambe, who finished with 0-9. A pair of well-taken goals from Ormonde killed off any hopes for the Farney men.
