Plenty of wins - U16As the pick of the week

A good start to the season for most of the football teams. Although Bridgefield was closed due to the bad weather, we got a bunch of games played at the back of the Castle.

U16 Division1 St Sylvesters 1-9 Na Fianna 1-7

Fantastic goalkeeping display by Sean O'Brien - a full stretch save just before the break and two brave dives at Na Fianna feet in the second, coupled with an all round solid display. Sean wasn't the only hero, however. Fionn Cahill ran the show in the first half and capped it with a great solo goal  straight off O'Brien's save. Eoin Boyne gave a very impressive display at full back (the peanut gallery were liking him to Paddy Christie). The lads will be tired tonight after playing on the Castle pitch, a country mile longer than a normal field.

U13 Div1 St Sylvesters beat Lucan Sarsfield by 5 points

Another good start although Lucan shook us with two late goals and made us fight to the end. Kelvin McHale is developing into a very dangerous full forward with a few goasl, Paudie White is a little dynamo around the middle, Simon Owens continued where he left off as last years Player of the Year and Andrew Cunningham is a lovely footballer, radar like anticipation and great vision in his distribution from centre back. Good win

U13 Div5 St Sylvesters beat Round Towers Clondalkin by 1 point
