Ryan hat trick gets Minors over Lucan

MHL2 St Sylvesters 4-08 Lucan Sarsfields 1-09 A second half hat trick of goals for Paul gave us a surprising win over a Lucan team we never beaten to continue our recent good run. The win was built on a super defensive effort in the first half when Lucan looked like they would overwhelm us but we kept the goals out and were happy to trail by only four, 1-05 to 0-04 at the break.

Lucan, hoping to make the league playoffs, came at us strong for about 10 minutes after halftime  but it only yielded two points thanks to great blocking and defensive play. Collie Byrne drove through for a fine goal, Paddy hit the crossbar and Paul goaled the rebound, Conor Dwyer hit a fine point and Paul goaled again. We finished wit a few points by Shane and another Ryan goal and were left wondering where this fine hurling came from late in the league. 

16 team B Championship starts in Sept and we are looking forward with high hopes.
