Scoil Iosa Senior Ladies Team win Dublin

Very good times for Syls GAA Club this past year. Part of the the great success is reflected in the the performance of the teams from Scoil Iosa in Gaelic Football, Hurling & Ladies Gaelic Football. Last year 2011/2012 the Scoil Iosa Ladies Senior Team put in a very good performance in Dublin before losing heavily to a strong team from Manor House in Raheny.

This year Scoil Iosa Girls went into the Dublin end of the competition with most of the Syls Minor Championship winning team. John Mangan Scoil Iosa with Ann Moore (Syls Minor Manager & Scoil Iosa Mentor) went through Dublin beating, Gael Colaiste Reachrainn, Loretta Swords, Balbriggan College, & Loretta in the Green.

Once again they came up against Manor House in the Final Dublin Game. The 2012/1013 game played in Broomfield on last Thursday was a complete turn around from the game last year Scoil Iosa 6-6 Manor House 0-0. Make no mistake this was a very good Manor House Team similar to their team last year. However this result is an indication how much work has gone into these girls in the past year with John Mangan & Ann Moore. This is one of the best advertisements for College Football working hand in hand with the local GAA Club.

These girls are now facing into a Leinster Competition as Dublin Representatives and must have a great chance of emulating the success of Sinead Ahern, Sinead Treacy and the Scoil Iosa All Ireland Champion Girls of 2002.
