Seniors get back to winning ways over Ravens

AFL1 St Sylvesters 2-12 Fingal Ravens 0-7 A very convincing win after a slowish start for the senior footballers, shaking off the loss to Marys last week. We had a lot of new faces starting tonight, testament to the strength in depth we have developed in our teams, and we seemed to get stronger as the game progressed, completely dominating the second half (except for a brief period when Ravens kicked 3 excellent points). This win was built on a dominant mid-field where Jockser gave his best display of the season, hitting some wonderful diagonal balls especially in the first half, and Ross was also closer to his best. Our full back line was never really tested although Ravens No'13 hit three points in the first half, Jamie Carr was an interesting addition to the half line with an equally energetic Collie McIntyre. Up front, Aiden Relihan played further out from goal tonight and Michael and Darren were very dangerous inside, great pass from Michael to make the first goal.
