Seniors leave it late at Vincents

It's always a good day when you beat Vincents and today was no exception. We left it late, John Coughlan grabbing a goal with almost the last kick for a 2-13 to 2-12 win. It was a funny old game, Big Niall called it a good open game at half time but with Vinnies leading 2-6 to 1-5 and we had missed a bagful he was being a little facitious.

Aido scored a few sweet points, Darren one particularly good one from the sideline and then Darren stole a goal just before the break to make up for missing a sitter early in the game.  Mossy Quinn was killing us at the back but Adam Keaney quited him a little although it was a tussle till the end, Mossy winning a few frees late in the game. Jockser went off, David Keogh came into the middle and upset the opposition a little - not as much, however, as a Carney called line ball when the resulting schimozzle seemed to inject a little life into us. Jockser came back on at full forward, Aido went to the middle and started to spray the passes around, we scored a few hard earned points before John caught a high delivery and ripped the net. I have believed for a long while that John would be addition to the Dublin forward line and I am becoming more convinced - and what about Aido in a more central role!!

The back line tightened up after a very loose first half, David Galvin and Brian Sexton in particular doing well. Cian Cleere put in a strong display in the middle, Ronnie Carroll, Campers and Eoin Fanning worked hard throughout
